Blog Archive mbaMission Consultant Spotlight Eric Hollowaty Having been a consultant, corporate executive, equity research analyst, start-up adviser and entrepreneur, Eric Hollowaty possesses a diverse perspective on MBA career paths. A graduate of Yale University, he attended Harvard Business School with the goal of transitioning from a government and technology consulting position with Booz Allen Hamilton to a role in capital markets or investment banking. When a challenging MBA job market complicated those plans, Eric decided to gain hands-on industry experience at Kaplan, Inc., where, among other responsibilities, he managed Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions’ largest region ($50M) and developed a strong affinity for helping students and working professionals achieve their educational and professional goals. Eric’s desire to “scratch his finance itch” intensified at Kaplan, so after five years, he left the company to become a sell-side equity research analyst at investment bank Stephens Inc. There, Eric published and presented resear ch on consumer industry investing ideas to many of the country’s largest asset managers and hedge funds and in 2013, was recognized by the Wall Street Journal  as the number one sell-side analyst nationally covering the household/personal products sector in the paper’s annual Best on the Street Analysts Survey. Since leaving Stephens, Eric has served as an adviser to an Internet-based equity crowdfunding platform company and indulged his passion for voiceover work as a professionally trained voice actor.
